Today Evocati joined a coalition of more than 1 70 organizations and leaders, including military-connected organizations, calling on Congress to help communities in the United States be sufficiently empowered and financed to welcome Afghan refugees and help them integrate into society. This follows Evocati joining the Evacuate our Allies (EOA) coalition in August and continues with its support today—EOA seeks to “better protect our Afghan allies and prevent further moral injury to our service men and women” and participated in this most recent joint letter campaign.

The letter calls on Congressional leaders to:

  • Authorize Afghans Arriving on Humanitarian Parole to Receive Refugee Resettlement Services

  • Appropriate Supplemental Funding to Serve Afghan Arrivals

  • Pass an Afghan Adjustment Act

These a crucial elements for Congress to address as soon as practical. The letter also states, “we welcome vulnerable Afghans arriving in our communities and ask for your support to help them fully integrate and thrive as they adjust to their new homes. At no other time has our moral responsibility to uphold these principles been greater.”

EOA can now be found on Twitter. Follow them here for updates and more.
