Highlights from our visit and volunteering with the team at Soldiers' Angels in San Antonio, TX.

Last week the Evocati PR team flew down to San Antonio, Texas to (finally) personally connect with the Soldiers' Angels staff, provide vital training to their team, and volunteer to serve their mission and veterans. Enjoying the beautiful, sunny 80-degree weather was just an added bonus.

After arriving at the Soldiers' Angels HQ, getting a tour of the building, and meeting the staff, we prepared for our Crisis Communication training. The training featured an engaging presentation followed by realistic scenarios. Despite the difficult tasks we presented, the staff was ready for us, and we couldn't be more impressed or happy by their efforts or buy-in, and neither could their leadership team.

We then turned our efforts to volunteering. First, spending some of our afternoon filling hygiene kits and care packages for their Go Camo care package campaign for deployed service members and hospitalized veterans at VA hospitals across the nation. The following morning, we were off to the San Antonio Military and Veteran Food Distribution.

At the MVFD, we provided thousands of pounds of food to over 200 veterans and lost our body weight in sweat (well, at least Dylan did).

This visit was important to the company for several reasons. This was the first time we were able to meet the talented people at Soldiers' Angels. For years we've only interacted virtually due to COVID-19 and the distance between companies.

We were also able to live up to our values by volunteering to give back to the local military-connected community by serving veterans in need. Both are why it is our mission to provide PR with a Purpose. We are grateful for the opportunity to engage as PR professionals and give back as servant leaders.
