Research demonstrates that veterans choose to work in higher education as an extension of their military service—overlapping values, traditions, and leadership opportunities provide a baseline for navigating university structures and operations. Our president & founder, Barrett Y. Bogue joined colleagues exploring this this topic in a webinar hosted by Hire Heroes USA.

The webinar focused on three areas of opportunity including:

• Why veterans are well-suited for these careers + why universities should be hiring them

• Tips and tricks for a conducting successful job search

Hiring managers should understand that veterans are more than qualified to work in higher education. They're ready to meaningfully contribute on day one. Veterans should understand that military service provides pathways for developing the skills and competencies that prove useful for working in higher education leadership roles.
