Supporting Orlando Military Families
Soldiers' Angels Military and Veteran Food Distributions (MVFDs) support food insecure veterans, active-duty military, guard, and reservist families across the country. Atlanta, Charleston, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Orlando, and San Antonio all host the monthly event where 200 pre-registered families receive on average, 75 lbs. of fresh fruit and veggies, meats, and non-perishable food items.

About Military Family Food Insecurity
Military families are more likely to face food insecurity than civilian families, nearly 26% are food insecure.
In December, Orlando recipients also received a turkey, just in time for the Holidays. Cheryl Sims, the Director of Soldiers' Angels of Orlando noted the MVFD reached its 200 pre-registration maximum quickly, but there was still a slew of unregistered families at the event hoping extra items would be available.
Soldiers' Angels' work is vital to the communities they serve. Service members and veterans, an underserved population, are supported by many initiatives the nonprofit runs, from MVFDs to Go Camo to Adopt-a-Family, which is still looking for donors to provide Christmas presents and meals to military children and families.
