Cheryl Endres has been a long-standing advocate for military members and their families having served as a key leader within military units and spouse groups and now as the proud mom of her Army Aviator daughter.
Prior to marrying into the military, Cheryl ran a public relations agency in Honolulu, HI. Putting her PR career in a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) briefcase, Cheryl established a marketing and project management consultancy through which she served a variety of clients from Hawaii to Washington, DC - home is where the Army sends you!
Following her late husband’s 26-year Army career, in 2013 Cheryl carried on her passion for serving and was able to apply her marketing expertise and military spouse experience as the Military Programs Advisor for La Quinta Inns & Suites and its parent company Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. She guided the development of their Military Service Initiative that focused on hiring veterans and military spouses, creating a military loyalty program, an Employee Resource Group, marketing to the military community, sourcing from veteran-and military spouse-owned businesses, and creating strategic partnerships with nonprofits serving the veteran and military communities.
Earning the company several Military Friendly awards and designations, Cheryl often shared best practices for being Military Ready on employer panels and provided sage advice at military spouse employment workshops. She also served as a program coordinator for the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse and Wounded Veteran & Caregiver Employment Programs, the Warrior Programs of the Center for BrainHealth at UT-Dallas, and as the PR Specialist for the national nonprofit Soldiers' Angels.
Cheryl volunteers as a Peer Mentor for Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), served on the inaugural Spouse Advisory Group for the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), and was a Special Events Associate at the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
Starting yet another new chapter, she will conduct her final PCS move and establish a new base of PR operations in Panama City Beach, FL where she will reside with her Operation Kindness rescue pup Rusty.
