Celebrating Women Veterans Day

Taking time to honor, reflect, and recognize the badass women who served in our Armed Forces.

I’ve heard from other veteran women who have been ignored and excluded from military-connected communities simply because they were women. They were neglected and turned away from veteran services and were told that they were not veterans because they were women. Now that military-connected communities are including women more, women want to know that the community has their back.

On this day, we pause to thank the women who have courageously served our country in both peacetime and conflict. From deep within each veteran's heart comes a profound commitment to excellence amidst fear, hardship and adversity; making them true heroes whose strength radiates through our communities. Formal recognition for women veterans began in 1948 which you can read more about its origin here. These fearless women remain an inspiration for generations of Americans.

As we reflect upon the incredible sacrifices made by our nation's veterans, it's important to acknowledge the contributions of the dedicated women who have served throughout our history. From the military's early beginnings to present day, women have played an undeniably crucial role in defending our country. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the trailblazing women who have paved the way for the women of today and future generations.

You can learn about some of these badass women like Amy, Joshica, and Kristin in a feature we published here. We also featured badass leaders like Melissa and Edna as well. Be sure to read their stories to learn about how military service impacted their journey as a veteran.

There are many ways to show your appreciation, from volunteering with organizations that help woman veterans to making a donation to a charitable cause. Our client, Soldiers' Angels, are just one organization where you can do so.

By showing our support and appreciation for women veterans, you can help make a meaningful difference in their lives and ensure that they receive the recognition and respect they deserve. Together, let's honor these extraordinary women and the sacrifices they have made on behalf of our country. From the entire Evocati PR team, thank you to all of the women who have served, and for those currently serving.
