Tysons, VA - Evocati announced today that Mark Szymanski will join the firm as its first CEO. Szymanski brings to the growing company more than two decades of experience in communications strategy for corporate, non-profit, and association partners.
Founded in 2018, Evocati is a public relations (PR) firm that partners with leading businesses to research, market, and grow their impact through purpose-driven PR. Based in the Washington, D.C. area, and with virtual communications experts around the country, Evocati is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business whose mission serving underrepresented communities is personal—its team members include veterans, military spouses, and the children of those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
“We’re honored to have Mark join the team as CEO today. His depth and breadth of experience in public relations, strategic communications, and more will help catapult Evocati as a premiere agency for mission-focused clients. More importantly, I know Mark will be consistent with our corporate values and hold our team to those standards as we continue to delight our clients,” said Barrett Y. Bogue, President & Founder at Evocati.
With Szymanski joining the company, Bogue retains his position as President and Founder with a renewed focus on strategic guidance and growth for the company.
“As the son and family member of the U.S. Marines, I’ve been honored to serve the military-connected community throughout my career by leading the communications efforts within veteran service organizations and working with companies who are committed to giving back to those who sacrificed for this country,” said Szymanski. “Not only is Evocati a mission and values-based company, we are leading the way in connecting causes and companies to those they serve, support, or hire. I look forward to expanding Evocati’s reach and maximizing our clients’ impact as its first CEO.”
As the founder of SightGlass Communications, Szymanski previously served as Evocati’s Senior Public Relations Consultant, helping with strategy and client support. During his career, he served as communications director for Student Veterans of America (SVA), the veteran public relations campaign “Got Your 6,” and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). He is the son of a 100 percent disabled Vietnam War veteran (deceased) and the brother and uncle of U.S. Marine Corps veterans. Szymanski holds a Bachelor of Science from Binghamton University in New York.
Evocati's previous and current clients include Veterans Education Success, The College Board, Veterans at Zoom, Soldiers’ Angels, Fayetteville State University, and the National Potato Council, among others.
