Martin Luther King Jr. Day: a day of gratefulness and sorrow.
A deep sorrow for our country—A sorrow fueled by the far too early loss of Dr. King. However, we do hold feelings of gratitude that we, as humans and Americans, are capable of the action, mindset, and ability of a leader like Martin Luther King Jr. Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. will forever be a radiant part of the history of our nation and globe.
No matter what obstacle he faced, Dr. King could not be deterred from his mission, his dream. Twenty-nine arrest attempts did not deter him. A nearly fatal failed assassination attempt did not deter him. For Dr. King knew that his mission was worth any and all risk and adversity he would face.
