It's easy to view Memorial Day as a three-day weekend and enjoy the kick-off to summer, but that's not what today is about.

This is a day to remember, thank, and honor our fallen heroes who gave all for our safety and freedom. Without their sacrifice, we wouldn't be able to honor their service today.

From our forefathers in 1775, to our post-9/11 veterans who didn't make it home, today is not a day off but an acknowledgment for an insurmountable price paid.

Enjoy your holiday and long weekend, but remember the sacrifices made to grant you your freedom today and every day that follows.
