Potatoes, Potatoes, Potatoes: National Potato Day is HERE

On this joyous occasion, we acknowledge the importance of the potato, potato growers, and the National Potato Council on our nation's economy, kitchen, and people

It's time to celebrate America's (and the world's) favorite vegetable. Whether it's roasted, mashed, fried, or boiled, the humble root vegetable has played an enormous role in the global food market for centuries. It is our pleasure to celebrate the most versatile vegetable and the dedicated potato growers who work tirelessly to get them from their farms to our plates. Today, we want to share with you how we are celebrating, and highlight the importance of potatoes to our national economy, as well as our clients, the National Potato Council and their mission to protect potato growers.

The potato has become an essential ingredient and staple food item for people across the globe. We encourage everyone to try out new, creative ways to enjoy the potato, in all of its forms.

According to the National Potato Council's Spud Nation Economic Impact Report, in 2021, the potato contributed $100.9 billion to the US economy. Just as impressive, potatoes support over 714,000 domestic jobs. And that is just for the US, who knows what the global numbers could be!

We believe it is essential to recognize and respect the hard work that potato growers put in. Potato growers work diligently every day to bring the potato to us. Every potato that is harvested is a victory, and it's important for us to celebrate this day with them. This is why we take pride in our work with the National Potato Council, which is dedicated to Standing Up for Potatoes on Capital Hill by protecting potato growers' economic well-being on federal legislative, regulatory, environmental, and trade issues.

Celebrate National Potato Day with us! Recognize the importance of the potato, its growers, and the National Potato Council that protects them in D.C. So, grab a potato, and let's continue to celebrate the people behind their production and the benefits they bring to our table.
