Evocati and The Washington Center Successfully Conclude Partnership On a High Note

Evocati announced the successful conclusion to their partnership with The Washington Center (TWC) today. In June, Evocati and TWC renewed their partnership to design a professional development curriculum for more than 20 student veterans remotely interning in Washington, D.C. as part of TWC’s Veteran Employment Trajectory (VET) Initiative.

The VET Initiative was a 10-week professional immersion program, hosted by TWC and supported by Prudential, where student veterans were matched with internship opportunities at leading organizations like the U.S. Department of Energy, Service to School, the Service Women’s Action Network, and more. To support their transition into the civilian workforce, the cohort also received online instruction that focused on resume writing, personal branding, job interviewing, networking, and job searching skills. TWC partnered with Evocati to design, facilitate, and present the classroom curriculum inviting representatives from LinkedIn, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Center for a New American Security, and more to participate.

“The Washington Center’s VET Initiative is the standard bearer for any organization that wants to grow their impact in the military-connected community” said Barrett Y. Bogue, Evocati’s President and Founder. “Despite moving to an online seminar and internship experience, it truly prepared and educated veterans for success in the workforce with demonstrated results.”

Mr. Bogue returned as Faculty Advisor for the second consecutive year and proctored a redesigned online curriculum. The 2020 cohort reported a significant improvement in learning outcomes. One hundred percent (100%) felt they could translate their military skills into civilian language – up from forty-two percent (42%) at the beginning of the program. Nearly one hundred percent (99%) felt confident in their ability to get another job within 60 days if the first one did not work out – up from twenty-one percent (21%) at the beginning of the program.

“Barrett Bogue of Evocati is exactly the type of industry-leading professional The Washington Center strives to connect with our students,” said Chris Norton, president, The Washington Center. “The value Barrett contributed as our VET Initiative Faculty Advisor, both in terms of guest speakers and curriculum, is evident in the cohort’s assessment of their ability to compete in the job market. That type of outcome is only possible thanks to Evocati’s expertise and passion to help student veterans and TWC."
