CITNF: NPC and the Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance Announce Most Extensive Plan in History

Specialty crop production, including fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, nursery, and greenhouse commodities, contributes significantly to the U.S. economy, accounting for $64.7 billion in farm gate value and 30 percent of all farm cash receipts for crops. This year the Alliance proposed 109 recommendations for the 2023 Farm Bill in order to support the competitiveness of U.S.-grown specialty crops in the face of increasing imports and rising global pressures on American exports.
The Alliance identified five overarching priorities, and all 109 of their recommendations center around them. They are:
Healthy Americans
Competitiveness & Sustainability
Trade & Foreign Competition
Research & Innovation
Natural Resources & Climate
