Soldiers' Angels and Atlanta VA's Collaborative Support of Food-Insecure Veterans in the Area

Through a phenomenally produced video at a recent MVFD in Atlanta, these two organizations are doing more than serving those who served, they're supporting particularly marginalized populations.

Responding to a Greater Need

Dr. Cooper went on to detail that the Atlanta veteran population has an increased need for support over other areas. There is a particularly high proportion of low-income and food-insecure veterans. Through Soldiers' Angels, the community and its veterans experience quite an impact.

Vicki Sarracino, Soldiers' Angels' Senior Director of Field Operations in Atlanta, noted within EIGHT minutes of the MVFD registration opening, 230 military families signed up to receive support.

Since Vicki and Soldiers' Angels expanded to Atlanta, Dr. Cooper has been instrumental in the success of the food distributions. He holds a deep passion for serving veterans and his community.

A growing need Dr. Cooper noticed was transportation to and from the VA medical facility. He reached out to Soldiers' Angels, and now, through a partnership with Lyft, veteran patients can get to and from the facility with ease.

The power of this video, Dr. Cooper's work, and Soldiers' Angel's work in Atlanta and beyond are instrumental in removing barriers to care and well-being.
